Liverpool Roller Birds (B) take on North Cheshire Victory Rollers – live roller derby!

I’m really excited about our next bout – against North Cheshire Victory Rollers Air Raid Sirens – as it’s a chance for our recently formed Chicks (B team) to really show what we’re made of now we’re in the 2nd half of the season.
We’ve had a win and some tough losses this season, but either way we’ve learned a lot and really tried to build on our skills and attitude after every bout.
Sometimes it’s easy to get intimidated by another team, so it’s key to make sure your spirits are up and you’re feeling positive. Other times it’s honing certain skills or strategy to make sure you’re all thinking as a team. I think we’ve done this now and we’re like a little family; we’re tough but we’re all supportive and look out for each other – it may sound trite but it’s true!
We’ve had some great guest coaches too, including Ginny Flynn from Sheffield Steel Roller Girls who was a founding member of Liverpool Roller Birds – we got lots of top tips from her, especially on blocking.
So this is bound to be a fun bout as we have a great roster and a Super Mario Brothers theme! Check out our awesome bout poster below featuring the cheeky Becky Ruckus as Mario and the exotic Lydia Astray as Princess Peach!
Hope you’ll come along and support the Chicks and you’ll also be able to see a mixed bout of advanced skaters from across the North, including our Birds, Manchester Roller Derby, Wakey Wheeled Cats and Wirral Whipiteres Roller Derby.
