Spooky Halloween Intraleague

Yesterday, we had the most amazing time.  Our monthly intraleague scrimmage fell so close to Halloween that we could not resist doing a little themed event.  Intraleague matches are usually closed events, and we don’t allow photography at them, but we made a few little exceptions this time since it was so AMAZING.  The friendly rivalry between our Black team and our Yellow team took a macabre turn for the day, with our Blacks adopting the Black Cat theme and the Yellows going for the Smashing Pumpkin theme.

We were all so excited about the intraleague, we went out of the way to decorate the hall:

And we had some mascots as well:

The Orange Pumpkins came out strong and confident and bagged an early lead.  The Black Cats, however, were not going to sit back and take that.  By the end of the first half, the point spread was only 9, with the Orange Pumpkins narrowly holding the lead.  The second half was exciting, filled with hard hits and power jams, and the end result saw the Black Cats taking the win, 149-144.

And then, there was cake (The Treat!) and the Naughty girls (The Trick!), who had the most penalties for their respective team.

Our Intraleague season closes out with a very close score – Yellows with 3 wins, Blacks with 2.

What a fun day!  We love our LRB family.

Naughty Girls need love too.
