Every year on 20th November, we remember and honou Every year on 20th November, we remember and honour the lives of trans and gender-diverse people reported murdered in the past 12 months.

Trans awareness week 2020 ends today with Trans day of remembrance #TDoR2020 at Liverpool Roller Birds we are open to women, transgender, intersex and gender expansive participants. We stand to counter the anti-trans violence faced every day. Be an ally, share this image, amplify trans voices. Find more information from:

Today is International Pronouns Day! Here’s a po Today is International Pronouns Day! Here’s a post from our beloved Data about what today means to them. Swipe for a pic of the night they passed their minimum skills, just because:
•
As a non-binary person, my pronouns are something that I cherish as they hold a special place for me and my identity.
I know a lot of people are "frightened" of pronouns and getting the wrong but there is no reason to be.
•
Simply ask the person what their pronouns are and I'm sure they'll be delighted you asked.
•
Pronouns are a way for a person to show their identity without prejudice. Simply asking someone's pronouns and respecting them can make their day.
•
I speak from experience, that when someone uses my pronouns correctly my little heart lights up. It makes me feel valid.
•
LRB have always respected me and my identity, and I am proud to be apart of this wonderful and honest league.

Here's a throwback to when our Pops #767 was a @thisgirlcanliverpool ambassador - how awesome.

So proud to have taken part in this - repost from So proud to have taken part in this - repost from @lcrpride 💕 Last year saw Liverpool’s biggest ever March with Pride, with a record 12,000 coming together for the annual event. With COVID-19 still impacting our lives we’re coming together virtually.

Over the past month organisations and individuals have been submitting to take part in this MarchONline

It’s International Non-Binary People’s Day, so It’s International Non-Binary People’s Day, so we thought we’d throw it over to our pal @littlemiki_data to explain what this means to them and how roller derby plays a part in their identity
•••
“In my experience, identifying as Non-Binary has always been a tough one to explain to some people.
Sometimes even the notion of an individuals gender identity not being in the binary is enough to
make people stare at me with a blank expression on their face.
"But you look like a girl...", "So, do you want to be a boy?", "What do your parents think?!"
are some things I often get when I tell people I prefer gender-neutral pronouns.
So when I went to my first ever LRB training session and told people "Hey, I'm Miki.
They/Them if you are cool with it?", nobody batted an eyelid and I panicked thinking I'd upset them.
Fast forward half an hour later, and one of the coaches said to the group "Watch Miki, they will
demonstate it". I can honestly say my heart skipped. It meant so much to me, to know that these people
not only accepted who I was, but understood it completely.
Still after nealry two years with LRB, I continue to be lifted up by these people I am honured to call my
friends. I have learnt to love myself so much more and have learnt to be unapologetic for my gender
indentity because of LRB. Without these powerful people in my life, I would still be avoiding any
conversation about gender identity and accepting the wrong pronouns just to avoid an awkward conversation.
Thanks LRB, you have helped me grow in ways you don't know” - Miki AKA Data

Happy Pride from everyone at Liverpool Roller Bird Happy Pride from everyone at Liverpool Roller Birds. This year’s Pride is very different to how we imagined it and we wish we could be skating the parade route through Liverpool in solidarity. But it is a good opportunity to reflect on how we can improve and how we can make our Pride more inclusive and more intersectional. Pride is founded on the revolutionary acts of trans people of colour who are so often overlooked in mainstream accounts and we want to make sure these narratives are front and centre of our pride and our allyship. We’re working to make sure these narratives are front and centre of everything we do through our new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and seeking to educate ourselves and improve all the time. In strength and solidarity this Pride x
[TW: domestic abuse] At this time, it is important [TW: domestic abuse] At this time, it is important to be aware of the additional pressures lockdown may add to the LGBT+ community. Many are struggling with mental health issues, having to delay coming out, trapped with abusive friends or family members or unable to see partners or loved ones. This makes it vital that we remain visible and offer support to others. The I am Project LGBTQ @iamprojectlgbtq is a new initiative to promote healthy relationships in the LGBTQ+ community and is conducting a survey into domestic violence and abuse supported by @safelives_ @stonewalluk and @ukblackpride
This is the largest ever piece of research into this area so get involved by completing the survey, even if you don’t feel you have ever been a victim of abuse.
