Recently, @englandrugby have proposed that trans w Recently, @englandrugby have proposed that trans women taller than 170 cm (5’7”) or who weigh more than 90 kgs (198 lbs) should be assessed by a coach to determine if they are a “safety risk” to others.
At LRB, we are proud to be a safe space for anyone that identifies as female or non-binary, and a place for people to come together and enjoy their love of sport.
Let's hope England Rugby can do better.

Happy International Day of Woman in Science! We w Happy International Day of Woman in Science!

We would love you to share your stories about how you got into STEM, whether its your day job, a hobby, or your studies.

We asked one of our A Team skaters, Tink #49 what made her want to peruse a career in science and what her day to day work life is like.

Here's what she said:

"I did my honours degree in Molecular Biology mainly because my dad encouraged me to do so as he was in a similar field. During my degree I became interested in forensic science through watching murder detectives on Channel 5.

Looked into it and saw I could apply to do a masters with my degree. Places were scarce but I was successful and a forensic scientist I became.

I have worked my way up from DNA analyst to where I am now which is working as a reporting officer for a forensic lab, I get to go to crime scenes and do blood pattern analysis and I have an advisory role where I mentor and advise less experience colleagues.

Working in forensics is challenging as it is rewarding, emotional as it is boring at times. I love going to work everyday not knowing what I'll find and using my brain to fight the good fight."

Find more information about the excellent work people are doing in science today by visiting https://www.un.org/en/observances/women-and-girls-in-science-day
